Laptop motherboard repair in Rancho Palos Verdes

Some problems are on the main board itself: a soldered charging port, a failed power circuit, or corrosion after a spill. Many shops replace the whole board; often the faulty part can be repaired instead.

Board work is done at the bench with a hot-air station, soldering iron and microscope. You get a quote after the diagnostic, before any work.

Questions

Do you replace the whole motherboard?

Only if repair isn't possible or doesn't make sense. Repairing the faulty part is usually much cheaper.

How much does a diagnostic cost?

$45 per device (free during the October offer). It's waived if you go ahead with the repair, and there's no charge if it can't be fixed.

Are parts included?

Each price is marked. "Part included" means the price is all-in. "+ part" means I quote the part for your exact model before ordering, so you know the full total before you say yes. You can also bring your own part.

Will I lose my files?

Most repairs don't touch your data. When a reinstall is needed, the "reinstall + data backup" service saves your documents, photos, desktop and bookmarks first and restores them afterward.
